'Disadvantages of Television.' - Prepare a speech

You wish to take part in the Elocution contest in your Junior College. One of the topics is 'Disadvantages of Television.' Prepare a speech on it in about 200 words. Respected Principal, teachers and my friends, The topic for today's speech is 'Disadvantages of Television.' In my opinion, there is no real benefit of watching television. I will give you a list of disadvantages of watching television. To begin with everything you watch is someone else's imagination and that's not good because we lose our capacity to be imaginative. Look at the news channels, they keep repeating one thought throughout the day and if we watch the news, we get influenced and we even think in the same way as the news channels. The big disadvantage of watching television is the I'll effects it has on our health. Our eyes are affected, we may say, I watch television for only an hour a day, but over a long time it does have it's affects. We sit to watch television so that 'couch potato' people we hear about, we eventually become. So it's time to give up watching television or to definitely reduce the time we spend watching television for our overall well being. Thank you for listening to me. Brian 92232 03441

Have You Earned Your Tomorrow - Appreciation - Std.10 (HSC)

Have you earned your tomorrow is an inspirational poem by Edgar Guest. In this poem the poet is asking the readers of they have done anything to improve the life of another human being or not. The theme of the poem is to make aware the readers of their duty to do good deeds. Our responsibility towards another individual in words or deeds and finally if God will allow us another day for our actions today. The main figure of speech used is Interrogation, since the poet keeps asking questions to the readers. The rhyme scheme used is aabb, ccaa, ddee and ffaa. Each stanza has four lines and they show different situations of kindness towards others. I like this poem because it makes realize that everything I say or do can change a person's life for the better. The judge of these words or actions is God, who will decide if I have earned another day by the work done today.

Std.10 - Speech - the Importance of Kindness

Prepare a speech to be delivered in your school assembly on the topic 'The Importance of Kindness' Use the following points * Makes us happier * Kindness imporves relationships * Kindness slows ageing * Kindness is good for the heart Respected Principal, Teachers and my dear friends, Good Morning everyone! My topic for today's speech is 'The Importance of Kindness.' This quality is one quality which we must all develop for our own benefit. Let me explain this further. What does being kind to other give us? To begin with, it makes us happier and that is to our benefit, and this is just the beginning. It helps us improve our relationships. Let's not go far. How many of us have disagreements with each other and are rude to each other? If we look at the reasons why we do these things, we will realize how silly they are. So bieng kind helps us improve our relationships. The next one won't affect us right now but it we continue our insensitive ways, we will experience the next point sooner than necessary. That is kindness slows ageing. If we have silly reasons to avoid being kind now, these reasons only multiply as we grow older and then it shows. Let's be kind to one another and let's remain young as long as possible by just being kind. Finally, I have one more reason to add to this list. Being kind is good for the heart. Imagine, our good health is based on our feelings. Being kind is a feeling we express and that gives us a healthy heart and that in turn keeps us well, no doctors, no medicines. Think about this and start showing kindness to everyone around. I'm already feeling good by just giving this speech. Thank you for listening. I hope you will all make kindness a priority. Have a nice day!
