Independence Day Speech

Independence Day Speech

Respected Principal, Teachers and my dear friends,
Good morning everyone,

Today India is celebrating 72 years of freedom from British rule. Today we celebrate the hard work, struggle and sacrifices of our great leaders, Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and many others who fought hard to get freedom for India.

We children are all born in free India. We should be proud that we have many choices for education, employment and to live the Indian way.

Today Indians are leaders in all areas of life. Many scientists all over the world are Indians. P. V. Sindhu is one of the world’s best badminton player.  Our women’s cricket team and the men’s cricket team are world class. Our businessmen are leaders of multinational companies.

It is the responsibility of us students to continue this tradition of progress and success. We are the future leaders of modern India.

We also need to be responsible citizens. We have to protect nature and avoid destruction of green lands in the name of progress. We must keep our country clean and promote “Swaach Bharat” to keep India free from illness and disease.

Today let us all together commit ourselves to continue to take India forward and show the world that we value our freedom and we will all work to make India the greatest nation on this planet.

Jai Hind! Jai Maharashtra!
