Std.10 (SSC) English Medium Question Bank - Answer - Speech - Salute to the teachers'

Q.6. B. Do any one of the following activities: [05 Marks] B1. Speech: Prepare a speech to be delivered by you in the ‘Interschool Elocution Competition,’ on account of the ‘Teacher’s Day’. Topic: ‘Salute to the teachers’ Hints: ● an excellent educator ● brightens a soul with its light ● teaches from the heart, not just from the book ● resourceful and dedicated ● hard-working and motivated Honourable Judges, teachers and friends, Good morning. My topic for the 'Interschool Elocution Competition' is 'Salute to the teachers.' Teacher's Day is a few days away and for the past 10 years, a teacher has been an important part of my life. Every teacher I came across has taught me something valuable, if not academics then something important about life. So this teacher's day I wish to salute the teachers' who have made me the person I am today. I am not able to say much about my primary school teachers but from what I see them doing with the students in their classes, I gather that they did the same for us then and that is they showered us with love, laughter and knowledge. From Std.5 onwards my memory is fairly clear and I remember most of my teachers and their contribution in my life in school and outside. All of them, I really mean it, have been excellent educators. They come prepared to class and can answer any question related to the lesson without referring to the textbook or notes. My school teachers teach from the heart, not just the textbook. The textbook is just a reference point. They were all resourceful and dedicated, many of them didn't take a single holiday throughout the year. Hardworking and motivated are the qualities they impart to every student in the school. Our school doesn't have a single student with less than 60%, yes, we are all first class students and our school has been recognised for this by the Education Minister. I won't be able to stop praising our teachers. So I'll end here with just a statement of gratitude to define our teachers. They are people who brighten a soul with its light. This Teacher's Day let's stand and salute our teachers. Thank you.

Std.10 - Write a dialogue between a headmaster and a student, who has lost his/her bicycle from school. (Minimum 3 meaningful exchanges)

Write a dialogue between a headmaster and a student, who has lost his/her bicycle from school. (Minimum 3 meaningful exchanges)

Student: Sir, I have come to inform you about my bicycle being stolen from the school bicycle stand.
Headmaster: When did this happen? Have you informed the lost and found office about this incident?
Student: It happened yesterday. I noticed the bicycle missing when we were leaving school last evening. I have already informed the lost and found office. They are checking the camera footage to see if they can find any clues.
Headmaster: That's good. I too will follow up with them and let's hope we can find your lost bicycle. I will ask the watchmen if they have seen anyone leaving the school on a bicycle yesterday.
Student: Thank you Sir. Please help me as the buses are always crowded and this bicycle was a comfortable mode of transport to travel to and back from school.
Headmaster: The bus situation is quite difficult. The school buses are already full. The public buses are full in the morning and afternoon the service is inefficient when school finishes and that's a big problem for our students.
